Kurt was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan as a tornado warning was being announced on the hospital’s P.A. system. That predicted the energy in Kurt’s future. Like a tornado Kurt has often been characterized as “fast and furious”.
Never one to take the easy road, Kurt has always chosen to push it to the limit. As a young violin student he chose Paganini over Bach and as an adult he chooses extreme skiing and mountain biking over more sedentary recreational activities. Kurt spent most of his youth in London, Ontario, Canada, before moving to Nelson, British Columbia to study music at Selkirk College. In Nelson, Kurt developed a reverence for the beauty of the natural world surrounding him and adopted the healthy lifestyle necessary to nurture his energetic existence.
Kurt’s musical style is best characterized as a fusion of all genres. His compositions bring out the emotions that move his soul.
Kurt spins musical tales that are sometimes lighthearted and animated, at other times warm and sentimental, and also dark and intense. His lyrics reflect his positive outlook on life and his love for those around him.
His passion and talent for composition has lead him to theatrical work as well. His music has been featured in the play Frankenstein by Echo Productions and will be featured in the upcoming production H2O by Birdland Theatre.
Kurt can play many instruments and deliver any sound that is needed for any project.
He is a passionate and talented musician with endless creativity.
Currently, Kurt is working on a duo project with Celest Chong. She is a multi-talented artist from Singapore who brings a symbiotic and dynamic vocal range with melodic synergy and captivating lyrics. The music is fantastic and the band name is Static Sound Symphony! Coming soon!
